Hey Im back!

Hi im posting again! Just like i said i would! But sadly, we didnt go out today like i thought we would so now i dont have that exciting of a post cause i was gonna bring Pickles and take pictures of him :( Oh well... Sorry guys! I try to make a better post next time!

Pickles!!!!

PICKLES!!!! Pickles is my lil platy of koolness! *Translation: Pickles the platypus is chloe's little platypus which she thinks is cool* Yes i had a feeling you might need a translation. Because i just spoke Chloe-speak, few people speak Chloe-speak. And yes i like Pickles alot, not the food, the platypus. So i really don't have anything to post about, but i will, and when i do, i shall post it! Im sorry this post was so boring. I try not to be boring, I just wanted to post but i had nothing to post about. But later today i will post again!!!! And it will be a good one(hopefully)!!!!

OOOOO!!! I hava an IDEA!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna make a Contest page, were every couple days there will be a Contest for you to enter!! And whoever wins will get some type of prize or special mention in a post or something!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!

P.S. when making the ring that goes around my head i cut the piece of construction paper in half and used a small orange piece in the back to keep it secure!

Have a Platypus(aka awesome) Thanksgiving!! So for the Thanksgiving post i just knew i had to do something awesome since its a holiday.. So i hope you like it!

Platypus craft number 1:

Paper cup platypi

What you'll need:

• Paper or foam cup (8.5 oz) or blue plastic cup
• Acrylic paint in a blue-ish color
• foam (orange)
• 2 small googly eyes or white foam
• orange construction paper
• blue construction paper or blue foam
• craft glue
• Scissors
• permanent marker

How to make it:

1. Place cup upside down on work surface and paint blue.
2. To make the arms, get blue construction paper or blue foam and glue in desired place.
3. cut out webbed feet out of orange construction paper or foam and glue to bottom
4. Cut 2 circles out of white foam and glue to face or glue 2 googly eyes to face.
6. get more orange foam and cut a platypus tail shape, with permanent marker draw a waffle pattern on tail and glue to the platypuses bottom
7. heres a picture i drew on paint of what it should look like ;)

Platypus craft number 2:

Platypus note holder!

What you'll need:

• 2 jumbo craft sticks
• Blue-ish acrylic craft paint
• Small wooden clothespin
• Paintbrush
• Scissors
• orange foam
• 2 small wiggle eyes or white foam for eyes
• Craft glue
• permanent marker

How to make it:

1. Paint both craft sticks and clothespin with blue paint, set aside to dry. Paint a second coat on the craft sticks, but not the clothespin.
2. Cut out a platypus tail out of orange foam, draw waffle pattern on it with permanent marker and glue it behind the first craft stick. Sandwich the second craft stick behind the tail.
3. Glue two wiggle eyes or white foam circles near the top
4. Cut out a beak out of orange foam Glue the beak under the eyes.
5. Cut out webbed feet from orange foam and glue the the feet to the bottom of the craft stick, pointing upward.
6. Glue the clothespin to the front of the craft stick, pointing downward.
7. Heres a picture i drew on paint of what it should look like ;)

Platypus craft number 3:

platypus head dress!

What you'll need:

• Construction paper: blue, orange, green
• Glue stick
• Scissors
• 2 medium wiggle eyes, or 2 white paper circles
• Craft glue (for eyes)

How to make it:

1. cut out a larger strip of green construction paper and glut together to make a ring big enough for your head
2. cut a blue rectangle out of construction paper and glue to the ring
3. cut the beak, feet and tail out of orange construction paper and glue in proper places
4. wait to dry and wear it proudly!
5. here is a doodle i made on paint of what it should look like :)

Tomorrow's ThanksGiving and the deadline for my Thanksgiving post!!! What do i do?!?! Suggestions?... Anyone?... No?..... Aww come on! Oh well. I'll figure this out. I can do it. Right now we arent an the subject of anything, so i will bring something up. MMOG! I hope i did that right, it stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Game. Which could mean ClubPenguin (which is not as awesome as KlubPlatypus, in my opinion), and doesn't have platypuses!!!!! So decided to see what it would look like if it DID have platypuses....

Yay!

Okay, so far i've made 1 out of 2 mini platypuses, made a platypus window/mirror cling, repaired pedro's straps, and began working on an icepack platypus. I feel partially accomplished!

Relax?

Oh im a busy bee! I have to fix the straps on Pedro, Make a How-to on platypus backpacks, post a how-to on platypus backpacks, make 2 mini platypuses(one of which has to be finished before tomorrow), figure out how to make Platypus Potter Puppet Pals, post a how-to on making Platypus Potter Puppet Pals, make cool stuff for Pickles so he wont be sad, Remember to post as often as i can, figure out how to make platypus camera cases and ipod cases, post a how-to on making platypus camera cases and ipod cases, figure out what to write in a thanksgiving-y post that still has to do with platypuses, write this post, make platypus window/mirror clings, make birthday presents for some friends' birthdays coming up, make christmas presents for all my friends, and still somehow manage to live my some-what normal life. PHEW!!!! That was a mouthful. So i need someway to relax!! The cold is what calms me, so soon i will make a platypus icepack, a platypus made with light enough fabric to feel the cold through, and able to open and close with velcro. Thats another thing to add to my ever extending list! And once i make that i will have to post a How-to on it!!! Will i ever get a break? Oh well, at least its fun! :)

Harry Potter!

Yesterday me and Pickles went and saw Harry Pottor and the Deathly Hallows part 1! It was awesome! So in the spirit of Harry Potter I have decided i am going to make Harry Potter themed platypus puppets and make Platypus Potter Pals! :D Well I might not call it that, but you get the point. Once i make the puppets i will post a how-to so you too could have Platypus Potter Pals!

Okay it wasnt really KampPlatypus, I actually just went camping with my homeschool buddies(not all of them, sadly)... So while we were camping i got the idea we should dig a river cause i always used to do that with my other friend who i sadly dont live in the same neighborhood with(I miss you Jac!!!).. So we made the Platypus falls! It was the perfect size for Pickles and his fellow mini platypus friends! I would show you the pics, but Blogger isnt letting me upload them all so i will try to find a way to show you them soon! :(

Sock Platypuses!

So here are 2 different ways of how to make sock platypuses!

Way number 1,this way requires alot of hand sewing:

You Will Need

• • 2 Buttons
  • Socks
  • Scissors
  • Needle & Thread
  • Toy Stuffing

Step1: Cut your sock into thirds, then remove the heel.

Fold the foot part flat like the sock would be if you were wearing it. Sew across the toe part to make the bill.

Step2:Stuff your sock and sew its back seam shut. Then, cut the corners off of the platypus bill and sew shut. Then to get rid of the corners where the toe of the sock was, I pushed the corners into the sock and sewed the seam into the sock.

Step3:Take the middle section of your sock and cut a strip about 2/3 across for the tail. Round the corners on one side.

Flip inside out and sew from the end of the tail all the way down the side to make a pocket. Flip the pocket right side out and sew it shut.

Step4:Now for the last part of your sock, this is going to be the legs.

Fold lengthwise into thirds and cut a strip. Fold the strip into thirds and cut on the creases. Then, fold the remaining 2/3 of the sock and cut a piece out the same size as the other 3 legs.

Step5:Fold each piece inside out and sew it into a pocket. Then flip right side out, stuff, and sew shut. I made each of the 4 legs a step to show what to do for each leg.

Step6:Now for that strip of fabric leftover from the tail section. Fold into fourths, and cut accordingly. Then fold each piece inside out and draw your foot design on each piece. (I only did two toes because I'm lazy today) Sew up the side, across the top, and back down the other side. Flip right side out and sew shut.

Step7:Now you are going to sew the feet onto the bottoms of your platypus' stumpy legs.

Step8:Sew the button eyes on, then sew his legs on. You can use the eyes as a guideline to where it's legs will go.

And finally, your funny looking sock platypus is complete!

Way number2,this way requires NO sewing:

What you will need:

A very stretchy baby sock. The one used here was 100% polyester.

Tiny rubber bands (You can find these in the hair accessories section of a department store.)

Poly-fil for stuffing the socks

Small black eyes, one finger cut from a glove, and brown felt or fun foam for the feet.

Scissors, and a hot melt glue gun (one that uses low temp. glue sticks).

What to do:

1. If your sock has a cuff that is folded down and sewed to the inside of the sock, turn the sock inside out and carefully cut the stitching and unfold the cuff. This will make the sock longer.

2. Use a small amount of poly-fil to stuff the toe of the sock to about half way to the heal of the sock to make the head of the platypus. Use a small rubber band to tie off the head. (See the general directions above on how to make no-sew sock dolls.)

3. Cut a finger off a glove and curl up the cut end a little. Stuff the finger just a little and then glue the cut end of the finger onto the head of the platypus to make the beak.

4. Fill the heal of the sock with poly-fil so that it is stiff. This is the body of the platypus. Secure the body with a rubber band.

5. To make the tail cut the cuff of the sock into a tail shape. Glue it closed on the sides and stuff it with poly-fil. Then glue the end closed.

6. To make the eye sockets insert a threaded and knotted needle into the place you would like one eye, pushing it through the head to the other side where you would like the other eye. Cut off the needle and pull the thread to form the eye sockets. Tie the end of the thread to keep the shape. Glue eyes to the eye sockets.

Have Fun with your new sock Platypi!!!!!

Woww... Im super suprised that i haven't introduced you guys to Pickles! Well Pickles is a super tiny plushie platypus that I made myself... Heres a picture of Pickles!
